"Faith & Legacy" - SF YAD 2019 Appreciation Musical

Since its establishment in 2015, San Francisco YAD has steadily grown as a group that attracts Bay Area youths from all walks of life. Heading into our fifth year, we have established the faith to pursue our passion and the truth, and continue to grow with the support of our family, friends, and temple devotees.

Our appreciation musical, “Faith and Legacy”, expands upon our well-received foray into acting at last year’s fundraising concert, and reflects our gratitude towards your support for SFYAD’s efforts to continue the legacy of Buddhism.

We will be having 2 separate skits during the musical, where:

1) Ancient Skit - We will be showcasing the story of the first patriarch - Bodhidharma, and his propagation of Chan in China, how Venerable Huineng became the 6th Patriarch who founded the 5 Chan schools, and how the Chan teachings were passed down to modern day today through the life of Buddha Light Young Adults.

2) Modern Skit - about story of how our youth learn and practice Buddhism into their everyday life, applying the Dharma when encountering difficulties.
